A few weeks after Frank Gifford passed away, the circumstances of his death is being scrutinized by the media.

Globe Magazine's Aug. 31 cover, with the title "Frank Gifford Death Mystery," centered around the death of Kathie Lee Gifford's husband.

The magazine went on to tease the story with the following lines: "No AUTOPSY!" "What REALLY killed him!" and "SECRET he took to the grave!" The cover also said, "Cheating scandal that rocked marriage to Kathie Lee."

"According to an official statement from Kathie Lee, her husband passed away 'instantly' while they were waiting to go to church, and she blamed his death on 'natural causes,' Celeb Dirty Laundry reported.

"So, we are all a little curious as to what those "natural causes" were, and hopefully GLOBE will be able to shed some light on it."

Meanwhile, Frank Gifford's second wife, Astrid spoke up about their relationship after his death. Allegedly, Astrid was at one point Frank Gifford's mistress, as they purportedly started their relationship while Gifford was still married to his first wife, Maxine.

"He was married, and I thought I could deal with it. But I couldn't. I loved him. I needed to get away and make a new start," Astrid reportedly told Radar, as quoted by In Touch Weekly. "I was still very close with them. I had my little life out there, and I guess they told Frank. So he came out and said he wanted to marry me. He just showed up at the door!"

Astrid and Frank Gifford were married for almost a decade before the sportscaster married Kathie Lee Gifford.

Amid rumors, Kathie Lee Gifford seemed to be at peace with her husband's death. The television host spoke about his husband's death when she returned to "Today" this week.

"We did not have a service for Frank last week. We had a party," Kathie Lee said on Today, as quoted by Hollywood Life.

She added, "Frank hated funerals. He hated boxes. He hated to be put in boxes. He hated to get in an elevator. So we played Frank Sinatra all day long and we had a party. The only criteria was, if you were there you had to be somebody that he adored, so it kept it nice and small."
