Kim Go Eun is getting ready for her first drama and she is excited about working with her co-star Park Hae Jin.
In an interview with the Korean media outlet Asia Today," she mentioned that they met.
"Park Hae Jin and I ran into each other once and I'm so excited to have him as my co-star."
At only 24, the actress has already had some impressive co-stars. In the film "Memories of the Sword," which she is currently promoting, her co-stars were Jeon Do Yeon and Lee Byung Hun.
In the 2011 film, "Eungyo," her co-stars were Park Hae Il and Kim Moo Yul. She won four awards for her role in that film.
She co-starred in "Monster" with Lee Min Ki and on "Coin Locker Girl" with Kim Hye Soo.
In an interview with Joongang Ilbo, she spoke about what it was like for a relative newcomer to work with so many fine actors. She gained something from each experience.
"Whenever I work with those amazing actors, I feel like their colors get absorbed in me. I feel like I'm a blank, white paper and their colors - green, red and black - get painted on me. They had different colors, but they had one thing in common: they all treated me as equals and respected me. I think it's because they've all been where I am, so they understand."
She says that it is important for her to take roles that suit her age and that's one reason she chose to appear in "Cheese In The Trap."
"I think I have something I can only express at this age," she said. Also, she is a fan of the webtoon the drama is based on.
Her "Cheese in the Trap" role is that of college student Hong Seol. She meets a seemingly perfect fellow student, played by Park Hae Jin, but she suspects he has secrets and he does. The drama also stars Seo Kang Joon.
The role of Hong Seol was interesting to her because the character experiences growth as she encounters various emotions.
But having worked with top actors and won awards in real life has not helped Kim Go Eun grow past her anxiety that the next project might not be as good as the last.
"I always prepare for the worst," she told the Joongang Ilbo. "For instance, when I chose to work on 'Eungyo,' I prepared myself in case it totally failed. I think imagining the worst possible scenario helped me get through hard times as I took part in the film. I'm also preparing for the worst for my upcoming work, "Cheese in the Trap." If you do that, you've got nothing to lose. Isn't that quite good?
Kim Go Eun may be preparing for the worst but the webtoon's fans are hoping for the best possible adaptation.
