Miami Heat's Chris Andersen claimed he is not bothered by the recent NBA trade rumors. He said that he did not have time to worry about his position in the team, as he is busy preparing for the 2016 NBA games.
When asked about the probability of Miami trading him to skirt the "repeater" tax, Andersen said that he would understand and respect the team's decision.
"It's a business, man, " he told Sun Sentinel. "It doesn't bother me one bit."
If the Miami Heat would not change their roster, it is set to become the first team ever who will have to pay the repeater tax. According to HNGN, after the team's individual salaries have been computed, they found out that they were over the tax line by $7.8 million.
Trade rumors suggest that Miami Heat may have no choice but to give up Chris Andersen. If the team decided to trade both Andersen and Mario Chalmer's, they would end up saving a little less than $10 million, just enough money to reduce the team's tax payment.
Meanwhile, Chalmer also continues to keep a positive outlook about the possibility of him being in another team at the start of the season. Speaking to Sun Sentinel, the athlete shared that he had a discussion with Pat Riley about the ongoing NBA trade rumors.
"When I had my exit meeting with Pat [Riley], he said the only way he would trade me was if he had to," he shared.
Chalmer said that Riley will just inform him about the management's decision soon. In spite of it all, he claimed that he is not worried about the trade.
"I've just got to keep focusing on my game and keep my mind straight and keep fighting through it," he told the publication.
