The 47-year-old Canadian singer, Celine Dion has resumed her residency at Caesars Palace at Las Vegas tonight, making her first show since August 2014 when she quit to take care of her husband with throat cancer.

In 2014, when Celine Dion found out that her husband's illness was taking a toll on his health, she decided to concentrate on her family. Now, a year after stepping off the stage, Celine Dion has returned to perform live. According to her, the songs have a new meaning for her now.

Celine Dion became a house-hold name after the release of her movie ballad, "My Heart Will Go On" for the film "Titanic." The song catapulted her to the likes of music divas like Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. However, she said it was frightful to come back on stage after her 1-year-haitus. It was her 73-year-old husband René Angélil who gave her the inspiration to return to Las Vegas.

After Celine Dion's Las Vegas show she spoke with the media. She said in the last year, her perspective towards the music has changed completely. She is no longer singing to make her songs sound professional but now she is singing with feeling. And she is hoping her fans will catch on and feel the sparks fly.

The Canadian star married her music manager in 1994 and has three children with him. In 1999, René Angélil was diagnosed with throat cancer. At the press conference she admitted that she is afraid of losing him but she has to look strong in front of her husband and her young kids and the real reason why she was here on stage was because of her family.

"Just enjoy, just enjoy. I love you," Celine said to her husband in a personal message after the press conference, reported US Magazine.

Celine Dion's Las Vegas show has grossed a reportedly $133 million and now she has scheduled shows for Saturday and Sunday, and after that she will be performing for every month on multiple dates before wrapping on January 2017.
