"Twenty Again" set a new record for Friday drama premieres on the cable network, tvN. According to the August 29 Nielsen Korea report, which was analyzed by the Korean outlet Newsis, "Twenty Again" recorded 3.8 percent in viewership. This is the highest rating for the premiere of a Friday evening drama on tvN.
The first episode illustrated the comedic, yet touching plight of Ha No Ra, a 38-year-old housewife who abandoned her dreams of becoming a dancer at age 19. No Ra helps her son, Kim Min Soo (Kim Min Jae) prepare for his college entrance exams, unwittingly gaining the knowledge she needs to return to school.
When her husband of 19 years serves her with divorce papers, No Ra is faced with the decision to pursue odd jobs or to finish her education. She succeeds with her entrance exam and enrolls in the same university as Min Soo and his snarky girlfriend, Oh Hye Mi (A Pink's Son Na Eun).
"Twenty Again" has the potential to yield higher ratings due to the universality of the storyline. No Ra navigates through the complicated world of higher-education, struggles with being older than her peers, and is romantically challenged by the presence of her first love. Her high school sweetheart, Cha Hyun Suk (Lee Sang Yoon) is a professor at the school, who works alongside her soon-to-be ex-husband (Choi Won Young).
Screenwriter So Hyun Kyung, whose previous projects include "Two Weeks" "49 Days," is responsible for the script. The series reunites Choi Ji Woo with director Kim Hyun Shik, who previously worked together on the 2013 drama, "The Suspicious Housekeeper."
