"Yong Pal" continues to reach new heights, with the series breaking its previous record of the highest rated weeknight drama of 2015. According to the September 17 report from Nielsen Korea, "Yong Pal" recorded 21.5 percent for its September 16 episode. This was is an increase of 2.4 percent from its previous episode and reflected a 1.0 percent increase from its previous record, which was set on August 27.
Episode 13 of the series served as a turning point for Kim Tae Hyun (Joo Won) and Han Yeo Jin (Kim Tae Hee). Tae Hyun effectively completed the marriage registration process and arrived at the fake funeral of Yeo Jin, with the documents that secured their nuptials.

Chairman Go (Jang Gwang) was neutralized for his role in the conspiracy to rule over Yeo Jin while Chief Lee (Jung Woong In) survived. As the death toll continues to rise on the action-packed series, it is apparent that series screenwriter Jang Hyuk Rin plans on making excellent use of the two episode extension that the drama was recently granted.
