Jeremy Lin's signing with Charlotte Hornets is still fresh in the minds of everybody. And the point guard dubbed Linsanity was reminded just how.
The 6-3 point guard shared on Twitter https://twitter.com/JLin7/status/642732333976682496 the funny experience that happened on Sept. 12 as he wrote, "Went to the Hornets arena for 1st time and tried convincing security im a player. She said, 'what team?!?' lollll #everywhereigo #literally."
Jeremy Lin has shown his funny side in his various Vine posts as well as the ad spot for Adidas Taiwan where he disguised himself as an overweight trainer, along with former F4 member Vaness Wu. So it's just right that Linsanity would find something humorous about nearly being locked out of the Charlotte Hornets arena.
But it seems the lady security did allow Jeremy Lin to train at the Charlotte Hornets gym, according to his Facebook https://www.facebook.com/jeremylin7/photos/a.1479639962270607.1073741829.1456505354584068/1685737188327549/?type=1&theater account with the same date, Sept. 12.
One fan couldn't help but give a playful dig at Linsanity, "security has let you get into gym? Lol."
Another, however, was livid. Kevin Chiu wrote, "yeah, what's up with that. even for non-basketball people, I can understand she doesn't recognize some dude like Yi Jianlian, but you're J-Lin. the lady need to start pay attention to the news. I won't be surprised if the lady doesn't even know who's current vice president of the country or the mayor of Charlotte is and what not."
But his Charlotte Hornets experience wasn't the first time that Jeremy Lin was barred at the gate.
The point guard recalled a story, per Yahoo https://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-dont-lie/jeremy-lin-had-to-convince-a-hornets-security-guard-he-plays-for-the-hornets-144853609.html, that he was also denied entry at the Madison Square Garden during his early days with the New York Knicks.
"When I got to Madison Square Garden, they stopped me at the player's entrance," the article quoted Linsanity as saying. "They said, 'Where do you think you're going? Are you a trainer?' And then another security guard came over and said, 'Hey...I think he plays on the team!'"
