"Sons of Anarchy" prequel or spin-off is now in the hands of Kurt Sutter. The former executive producer of "Sons of Anarchy" talked in-depth future options for the hit series and he talked in-depth about Charlie Hunnam.

In his recent interview with Deadline, Kurt Sutter opened to the idea of a spin-off and not working on a prequel saying that he would prefer a contemporary piece over prequel, as a prequel would only jeopardize the things he and his team has created in the past. Kurt Sutter does not want to touch something that he already being loved by so many fans.

If there is a spin-off of "Sons of Anarchy" there are chances that Kurt Sutter will again team up with Charlie Hunnam. But Kurt do not want to rule out all the chances at this early stage. "It [Spin-Off] doesn't mean that there couldn't be some cool, ironic crossovers with familiar characters as the series progressed." Sutter said.

Fans cannot imagine "Sons of Anarchy" without Charlie Hunnam. Even Kurt thinks of him as a family and is known to spend a lot of time with him discussing about the prospect of future possibilities and work.

According to Classicalite, the spin-off of "Sons of Anarchy" series will head towards "Mayans."

"The Mayan thing happened as I was talking to Eric Schrier, one of the FX executives I've known since The Shield. We were talking about the idea of doing things for other markets, like the Spanish-speaking market. I casually said I'd be open to doing something with the Mayans. It's the same [biker] subculture, but it'd be interesting to see the influences of that culture and how it impacts the subculture we already understand," Sutter said.

Kurt also admitted that "Sons of Anarchy" is hard to follow. Considering the story and subplots of the "Sons of Anarchy," Kurt wants to take risk on trying something new with the spin-off/prequel. As the fans have already seen the mythology in "SOA." Kurt wants to try something new so that the new story line will have a future of its own and the fans will not compare it with "Sons of Anarchy."
