Maisie Williams is in negotiations to star in the upcoming zombie adaptation of "The Forest of Hands and Teeth" written and directed by Kate Maberly.
"Edge of Tomorrow" producer, Doug Liman will produce the film based on New York best-seller by Carrie Ryan. The synopsis of story reads as:
"The story is set "sometime in the future," in a world where most of the human race has been taken by a bloodthirsty virus that leaves them roaming the planet as unconsecrated cannibals. Mary (Williams) seeks a bigger world beyond the fenced off village of survivors, and the survival of the human race seems dependent upon her success in leading a ragtag group through the dark depths of "The Forest of Hands and Teeth." "
In an interview with Variety, Kate Maberly revealed that she is incredibly excited to be work into the Zombie flick and collaborating with Doug Liman. "We can't wait to bring Ryan's fantastical world to life and are absolutely thrilled to have Maisie on board."
Maisie Williams is already a fan favourite on "Game of Thrones" for playing one of the most loved characters in the series. For her role of Arya, she has received plenty of critical acclaim over the last five seasons. The 18-years-old Maisie Williams most recently appeared in "Doctor Who" and in recent time, she has signed films like "Gold," and "The Falling."
Kate Maberly has gained attention from the studio after her short, "Charlie's Supersonic Glider." The writer/director started her career from the 1993 film "The Secret Garden." Over the years, she has appeared in a handful of films, including "The Last of the Blonde Bombshells."
"The Forest of Hands and Teeth" will go on floor sometime in the new year and if everything goes according to plan then the zombie flick will get an early 2017 release.
