Hugh Jackman's time with "X-Men" franchise is nearly coming to its end. "Wolverine" fans have speculated who will be the next "Wolverine." Fortunately, Hugh Jackman has shed some light on his own choice for who should be the one to wear adamantium claws.
In an interview with MTV, the 46-years-old Hugh Jackman weighed in on the debate with his choice. "I haven't really given it a lot of thought," Jackman told MTV. "I've been asked that question a lot, and I'm always like, 'I don't wanna make it too easy on the studio to replace me,' you know? I've still got one more to do. I'm sure they're already talking about it, and there's some actor [they've told] 'shh, keep it quiet but we want you next."
Even though Jackman did not reveal the studio's choice for the next Wolverine. Although, he did not mind sharing his personal choice to play the Wolverine.
"He's younger than me for sure," Jackman says. "I think Tom Hardy would be a great Wolverine."
There is no official confirmation from FOX or from any representatives from either Hugh Jackman or Tom Hardy. If FOX do considers Tom Hardy, then he would be a great choice considering the projects he has undertaken in the recent years. The 38-years-old Tom Hardy has proven his acting capabilities by working in films like, "The Dark Knight Rises," "Mad Max: Fury Road," and in upcoming "Hundred Bullets."
Hugh Jackman will reprise his the role of Wolverine for the last time in a standalone feature film, "The Wolverine," and there's a possibility that he could make a cameo in the upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse," "Gambit," or in "Deadpool."
In October 2013, The Wrap reported that Michael Green would write the story. Even Patrick Stewart confirmed in an interview with Collider that he would be reprising his role of Professor X. The film will be released on March 3, 2017.
