"Castle" star Nathan Fillion reacted about a recent report claiming that he allegedly had "nightmares" because of a scene he did for the season 8 premiere of the show.
According to the report, the actor is purportedly scared of spiders, but he allegedly had no choice but to make a scene with tarantulas for the season 8 premiere episode of "Castle."
"Nathan had no idea they'd use real, hairy scary spiders," a source from the set of "Castle" season 8 reportedly told Dish Nation.
"Like most people he has a fear of spiders, especially ones the size of his fist! So when a handler arrived on set with a case carrying 24 of his frightening fury friends, Nathan freaked."
The so-called source reportedly claimed that the spider handler had to talk to Nathan Fillion before the scene to calm him down.
"He [the handler] explained there are three main species of tarantulas; the Indian, African and New World spiders. The Indian and African have venom that can kill humans, but the New World tarantulas have venom that really is not harmful to people. Obviously, they used New World," the insider continued.
According to the report, Nathan Fillion went ahead and did the scene for the season 8 premiere, but he allegedly had "nightmares" after because he was so scared of the spiders.
"All the sweating and shaking he did was REAL! And although he came through like a pro, the following day he arrived on set confiding he was up all night the night before with nightmares about giant Spiders crawling all over him in bed!" the source reportedly said the celebrity news website.
Dish Nation's report would have been a good read about what goes on behind the camera, if only the "Castle" star himself didn't debunk the story.
Nathan Fillion shared the article on Twitter, with the comment, "Unfortunately, I knew for weeks, insisted on real spiders, and considered it a treat. But, good 'source.'"
Dish Nation replied by saying "Sorry @NathanFillion, we thought this story had 8 legs to stand on. You're much braver than us. #castleforlife."
