As the plot of the SBS drama "I Hear Your Voice" takes more twists and turns, the ratings keep rising. This week the fantasy courtroom drama hit 19.7 percent in viewer ratings, leaving the competition far behind.
Last week left lawyer Cha Kwan Woo, played by Yoon Sang Hyun, defending the man who threatened Jang Hye Sung's life. Jang Hye Sung, played by Lee Bo Young had been getting closer to Cha Kwan Woo. She wanted to date him but his decision to defend the man who threatened her and an unexpected courtroom verdict ended any chance or romance.
No sooner is the case is decided than Cha receives information that shows his defendant in a whole new light. Prosecutor Do Yeon talks to her father about the case and viewers begin to suspect that her father, who was the presiding judge on the case Jang Hye Sung originally testified in, is more involved in the proceedings than originally thought. Then a distraught Park Soo Ha, played by Lee Jong Suk, tries to defend Jang with disastrous results. And that was only the first episode this week.
Meanwhile, "The Queen's Classroom," about a sixth grade teacher who rules her classroom with an iron hand, only reached 9.5 percent in the ratings despite excellent reviews. The drama stars Go Hyun Jung as the despised teacher Ma Yeo Jin and a cast of talented young actors playing her displeased students.
Between the existing positive buzz about "I Hear Your Voice" and the great reviews for "The Queen's Classroom," "The Blade and The Petal," which premiered this week faced some stiff competition and by its second night reached only 6.4 percent.
The historical drama "The Blade and the Petal" stars Uhm Tae Woong and Kim Ok Bin. The star-crossed couple has already been described as the Korean Romeo and Juliet. Kim Ok Bin is Moo Young, the daughter of King Yeongyu. A nobleman known as Yeon Gaesomun kills the king and the princess plots revenge. Uhm Tae Woong plays Yeon Choong, that nobleman's son. The princess will find love interfering with her plans for revenge.
In variety show ratings, "Happy Together" won with a rating of 8.7. The success of the show can be attributed to its full roundup of idol guests. The show featured Super Junior's Khuhyun, Super Junior-M's Henry, 4minute's Hyuna and Heo Ga Yoon and SISTAR's Dasom and Soyou.
The variety show "Kneedrop Guru" achieved 5.3 percent in the ratings.
