Kim Zolciak's elimination from "Dancing With The Stars" is the latest news on the grapevine. She has been eliminated from the show she was not able to perform on Monday, Sept. 28.
The "Don't Be Tardy" star failed to perform in the show due to her recent hospitalization for a mini stroke. During Monday night's broadcast, Zolciak reached out to the audience via Skype from her Atlanta home. She explained that her doctor did not permit her to fly. She added that if at all she had lived closer, she would have driven to Los Angeles, where the show is taped.
According to ABC show's rules, if a contestant cannot perform because of medical reasons, they will be eliminated, the host Tom Bergeron explained. Her partner, Tony Dovolani, danced their scheduled "I Dream of Jeannie" routine with a fellow pro and the show's dance troupe instead.
"The rules of the competition dictate that @Kimzolciak must withdraw, but her health is the most important thing. #DWTS," the show's account tweeted on Monday.
"Family comes first. Health comes first," Tony said about Kim. However, he still made a plea for the rules to be bent this one time, but Tom reiterated that wasn't going to happen.
"She is bummed," a source told Us Weekly. On Instagram, Zolciak shared with followers that she was "really sad" to be eliminated. "I practiced for hours Saturday I was so excited to be there tonight!" she captioned a video with Dovolani. "I just needed a few more days and then I'm cleared to fly! #ImReallySad #ImStrong."
As previously reported by US Magazine, the "RHOA" alum was hospitalized after she suffered a terrifying mini stroke on Sept. 22. The mom of six shared on Instagram that the left side of her body went completely numb and that she was temporarily unable to speak, US Weekly reported.
