Demi Lovato's ups and downs have been well documented in the press and now she's really baring her soul to everybody by posing nude for Vanity Fair magazine.
The nude photoshoot came on the heels of another photo where she went topless for the cover of Complex magazine.
"Photographed by Tony Kelly, the image sees the 23-year-old 'Cool for the Summer' songstress leaning against an inflatable banana wearing nothing but a pair of mesh underwear and leopard print heels," said Huffington Post.
For her nude photoshoot for Vanity Fair, Demi Lovato was photographed by Vanity Fair resident photographer Patrick Ecclesine.
In the accompanying interview, she said there's only three rules in the photo series and that there's going to be no clothes, no Photoshop and no makeup.
"What does it mean to be confident?" she said. "It means letting go, being authentic, saying I don't give a f-k and this is who I am. I want to show the side of me that's real, that's liberated, that's free."
"What if we do a photo shoot where it's totally raw? Super-sexy, but no makeup, no fancy lighting, no retouching, and no clothing. Let's do it here, let's do it now," she added.
In the video clip, Demi Lovato said that never in a million years would she have thought about going nude for a photoshoot.
"I would have never thought where I would ever gotten to a place in my life where I could feel comfortable doing that," she shared. "It's empowering and it shows other women you can get to a place where you can overcome obstacles of body image issues."
Wilmer Valderrama's girlfriend added, "In the past, I suffered from eating disorders and I basically went from hating every single inch of my body to working on myself..I learned after working very hard on my spirituality and my soul and my body that you can get to a place that you love the skin you're in and I'm excited to share that with the world."
