Singer Baek A Yeon may soon give singer Baek Ji Young some competition for the title of the Queen of the OST. She recently revealed her third song for the soundtrack of a drama. The song "Tears Are Also Love" was written for the MBS drama "Goddess of Fire," starring Moon Geun Young, Kim Bum and Lee Sang Yoon.
"Tears Are Also Love" played during the sixth episode of the historical drama that is inspired by the story of Korea's first female pottery maker. The song was first heard when Jung, played by Moon Geun Young, and Prince Gwang Hee, played by Lee Sang Yoon, met again as adults. Their destinies are intertwined and they are fated to love each other. But as life's circumstances keep them apart, more than a few tears will be shed. Tears Are Also Love, the love theme for the star-crossed lovers is powerfully expressed by Baek A Yeon's beautiful voice.
Baek A Yeon contributed songs to two other dramas this year. Cheomdamdung Alice, which also starred Moon Geun Young and co-starred Park Shi Hoo. The song she contributed to that soundtrack was "Daddy Long Legs." In "Cheomdamdung Alice," Han Se Kyung, played by Moon Geun Young, is a struggling fashion designer, who gives up trying to improve herself and instead attempts to meet a wealthy man to marry. The expression "daddy long-legs" comes from a 2005 Korean film in which a rich tall man gives money to an orphan. Han Se Kyung prefers to make her own fortune but worries about her family's financial security. That soundtrack also featured K.Will and Luna.
Her second contribution to a drama soundtrack was "When A Man Falls In Love," starring Song Seung Hoon, Shin Se Kyung and Yeon Woo Jin. That song was "Introduction to Love." The title had to do with the fact that Han Tae-Sang, played by Song Seung Hoon, was a gangster but became a successful businessman. He has plenty of drive and ambition but little experience at relationships when he meets the young woman Seo Mi-Do, played by Shin Se Kyung and falls in love for the first time in his life.
Baek A Yeon was the third finalist in the South Korean talent show K-Pop Star Season 1. She has released two mini albums and several singles. She is currently studying music at Howon University.
