Justin Bieber is allegedly trying to collaborate with Ed Sheeran for a song.
With Justin and Ed's musical prowess and fan base, a collaboration song will surely be a hit. However, there seems to be one problem - Ed Sheeran may not exactly be raving to work with Justin Bieber.
Ed Sheeran has been known as a good-natured British music artist who mostly produces wholesome and sweet songs.
Justin Bieber on the other hand has been involved in numerous controversies over the years, involving multiple ex-girlfriends and angry neighbors.
Is Ed turning down a chance to work with Justin because the "Thinking Out Loud" singer doesn't want to be associated with the "Baby" singer?
Not quite, apparently, Sheeran has a different reason for not being keen on jumping in the project.
"For some reason Ed is adamant Justin will not join him in the studio; he thinks their voices would be too similar and not mesh well. He prefers the sound of men and women together," an insider reportedly told Dish Nation.
"Ed just doesn't want to work with Justin or do a duet. He's actually a really easy going guy and he's written for tons of others artists, so it's not like he's overly possessive with his work."
According to the source, Ed Sheeran is hesitant whether his musical style would jive with Justin's.
"Ed's not sure that despite his urban sound, that it would gel with Bieber. The Biebs wants to have a global mainstream hit that stretches beyond his fanbase - and Ed has the power to deliver that kind of hit," the source added.
Apparently, some speculate that there might be another reason why Sheeran doesn't want to work with Bieber - Taylor Swift.
"Some in Bieber's camp think Ed's avoiding him because of his BFF Taylor Swift, who still has issues with him over his treatment of Selena Gomez. The two of them had a falling out when Taylor thought Justin wasn't treating Selena right. Ed doesn't really want to get in the middle but will always side with Taylor."
