Rock legend Steven Tyler has asked the court to order presidentiable Donald Trump to stop using an Aerosmith song during his campaign.

In an Associated Press report, Steven Tyler allegedly wants a cease-and-desist order against DonaldTrump who is using "Dream On" for his presidential run.

Apparently, the billionaire doesn't have permission from Aerosmith for the use of the song. And the continued use of "Dream On" is giving a "false impression that he is connected with or endorses Mr. Trump's presidential bid."

Steven Tyler, however, is a Republican.

Attorney Dina LaPolt, the lawyer for Tyler, said that hi client has " no personal issue with Mr. Trump." However, the whole issue is about asking for permission from the artist before using the song for personal gain.

Donald Trump has yet to issue a statement regarding the suit filed by Steven Tyler.

But NY Daily News noted that this isn't the first time that a mucisian has distanced himself from Donald Trump during the presidential campaign.

"Last month, R.E.M. founding member Mike Mills slammed Trump's use of the group's classic 'It's the End of the World As We Know It' at a campaign event, demanding that he 'cease and desist' using the song," it said.

In a Twitter post on Sept. 9, Mike Mills wrote, "Personally, I think the Orange Clown will do anything for attention. I hate giving it to him."

The R.E.M. also released a statement in the wake of the cease and desist order on the use of its song for Donald Trump's presidential campaign.

The statement read, "While we do not authorize or condone the use of our music at this political event, and do ask that these candidates cease and desist from doing so, let us remember that there are things of greater importance at stake here.

"The media and the American voter should focus on the bigger picture, and not allow grandstanding politicians to distract us from the pressing issues of the day and of the current Presidential campaign," it added.
