Yoo In Young has enjoyed a succession of roles in hit dramas. She played Jun Ji Hyun's murdered rival in "You Who Came From The Stars." Then she played a warrrior in love with Joo Jin Mo, in "Empress Ki." Last but not least, she was Yun Jung Hun's jealous wife and Joo Ji Hoon's psychotic sister in the melodrama "Mask."
Yoo In Young is very good at playing bad characters. Her most recent roles required her to be deceptive, destructive and delusional. And she was good in every one of them. Her next drama "Oh My Venus" will give her chance to play a kinder, more positive character. "Oh My Venus," which stars So Ji Sub and Shin Min Ah, is a drama about getting in shape and falling in love. So Ji Sub plays Kim Young Ho, a personal trainer. Shin Min Ah plays Kang Joo Eun, a lawyer who after years of letting her looks go, decides it is time to get in shape. She asks So Ji Sub to train her. Shin Min Ah makes the decision to get in shape because she noticed how shaping up helped her best friend. Yoo In Young plays that childhood friend, a lawyer who turned her life around after exercising and losing weight. Her character was an overweight child but now she is beautiful and successful. That's what Shin Min Ah's character wants.
But she does not expect to fall for her trainer.
Actor Jung Gyu Woon will play a former professional swimmer who is now working for a medical corporation. Shin Min Ah's character dated Jung Gyu Woon's character for more than a decade but he does not turn out to be the right man for her. And to complicate things, his character and So Ji Sub's character do not get along. Jung Gyu Woon was last seen in "God's Gift - 14 Days" and "Birth of a Beauty."
Before becoming an actress Yoo In Young debuted as a model in 2005. The 31-year-old actress was the first Korean meodel chosen to represent the Elizabeth Arden cosmetic brand in Asia. In 2015 she also appeared in the films "Veteran," a box office hit, and the film "Female Teacher."
"Oh My Venus" also stars singer-rapper-actor Henry Lau, Sung Hoon and Jo Eun Ji. It follows the currently running drama "Cheeky A Go Go," starring Jung Eun Ji. The first episiode will air on November 18.
