A lot of fans have been hoping that Maisie Williams will be cast as the main character in the movie adaptation of the 2013 PS3 release"The Last of Us."

In a recent interview, the "Game of Thrones" actress talked about wanting to play strong female characters.

"I didn't realize when I was younger that women were written so badly," Maisie Williams told Radio Times magazine, as quoted by Daily Mail.

"But going further into this career I realized there are a lot of really bad characters, that it's not common to come across females who aren't just 'the girlfriend.'"

The "Game of Thrones" actress was interviewed as she appears in "Doctor Who" as a young Viking named Ashildr. But is there a chance that actress was also hinting at accepting the role of Ellie in "The Last of Us" movie?

It may not be clear at the moment if a negotiation is still going on between Maisie Williams' camp and the producers of "The Last of Us" movie.

Some argue that 18-year-old actress who plays the role of Arya Stark in "Game of Thrones" may be a bit too old to portray the role of 14-year-old Ellie in the post-apocalypse movie.

Another complication could be the actress's schedule, as she is currently involved in the gargantuan production of "Game of Thrones."

"In between now and 'The Last of Us'' start date, Williams could either lose interest in the role, or become too enmeshed with other projects to participate;" Andy Crump of Screen Rant previously pointed out.

Aside from her age, some believe that Maisie Williams may be a bit too mature to play Ellie on "The Last of Us" movie, especially now that she has already done her very first sex scene for an indie film called "The Falling."
