Demi Lovato has posed nude for the cover of Vanity Fair magazine, and she's releasing her new album, "Confident," so she's really sending a clear message to the world.

The nude photoshoot with Vanity Fair came on the heels of another photo where she went topless for the cover of Complex magazine.

In an interview with E! News, she said that she really wanted to make a statement.

"I want that statement to be empowering towards women," she said. "And I want to inspire other women. For someone who's had body image issues since they were a child, I went from hating every inch of my body to showing every inch of my body to the entire world and without touching up anything. I wouldn't have done that six months ago, because I didn't have the confidence that I do today."

Of her nude photoshoots, Demi Lovato said that it's another statement that she will take control back of her body.

"A lot of times I get frustrated because people will, without my consent, Photoshop my body and it doesn't look like my own body," she added. "Like, no no no, my thighs are bigger than that, can you put them back to the way they were? I've literally done that before where I'm like, 'No, put my legs back on me. Those aren't my legs.'"

The Complex nude photoshoot was photographed by Tony Kelly and "the image sees the 23-year-old 'Cool for the Summer' songstress leaning against an inflatable banana wearing nothing but a pair of mesh underwear and leopard print heels," said Huffington Post.

For her Vanity Fair nude photoshoot,Demi Lovato was photographed by Vanity Fair resident photographer Patrick Ecclesine.

In the accompanying interview, she said there are only three rules in the photo series and that there's going to be no clothes, no Photoshop and no makeup.

"What if we do a photo shoot where it's totally raw? Super-sexy, but no makeup, no fancy lighting, no retouching, and no clothing. Let's do it here, let's do it now," she said.
