Kim Jae Joong loves animals but he doesn't get to spend as much time with them as he would like. Although he has cats and a dog, they are cared for by his family because his singing and acting schedule are too irregular. He is often on tour or on a filming schedule with long workdays.
Fortunately, he has found a new way to demonstrate his love for animals by lending his voice to a documentary about endangered species.
According to his agency, CJES Entertainment, he will narrate the documentary "The Zoo Is Alive 2." Fellow JYJ member, singer Kim Junsu narrated the first documentary in this series.
"The Zoo Is Alive 2" tells the story of a zoo project that works to save animals that are endangered.
"He has shown great interest in the documentary because he loves animals and the recording will take place within the week," said a CJES representative.
"I think it will be fun to communicate with animals," said Kim Jae Joong.
A member of the documentary production company said that having him narrate the show could be considered perfect casting.
"He has a great voice and he loves animals," said the documentary company staff member. "We hope many people come to show their love for animals thanks to JaeJoong's voice."
When fellow JYJ member Kim Junsu did the narration for "The Zoo Is Alive" in March, the documentary earned viewer ratings of 4.7 percent, which was higher than the ratings earned by previous similar documentaries.
Kim Jae Joong, who starred in the dramas "Protect The Boss" and "Time Slip Dr. Jin" and the films "Heaven's Postman" and "The Jackal is Coming" was recently chosen as the most loved Hallyu star in Europe and South America. In "The Jackal is Coming" he plays a Hallyu star who is kidnapped by an assassin. As a member of JYJ and a former member of TVXQ, Kim composes and sings.
He has also contributed to the soundtracks for several dramas and films. He sang "Love" for the soundtrack of the movie "Heaven's Postman." He contributed "Found You" and "For You It's Separation, For Me It's Waiting" to the soundtrack of "Sungkyunkwan Scandal," which starred fellow JYJ member Park Yoo Chun. He contributed "I'll Protect You" to the soundtrack of "Protect The Boss" and "Living Like A Dream" to the soundtrack of "Dr. Jin."
The "Zoo Is Alive 2" will air on August 12.
