Sony brings out two new Android phones every year, chiselling out imperfections of its predecessors. This has brought company to introduce five generations of phone since 2013. Every year the new Sony smart phone have gone better in terms of distinctive design, long battery life, the latest Qualcomm processor, and a great camera sensor, said The Verge.
However, this story is not true in case of all smartphones in the United States. Sony has come out with the new Sony Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z Compact that has helped Sony to regain the market share. On the contrary, US Carriers have been reluctant to experiment with Sony products ever since AT&T's troublesome experience with Xperia Ion in 2012. Moreover, Verizon's Xperia Z4v was also cancelled due to protracted delay, said The Verge. Sony has been categorically been absent from the mainstream smart phone galleries in the country.
The new Sony smart phones although still struggle in the US market but it intends to change it nevertheless. Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact were one of the best Android phones last year and this year's Z5 family promises to deliver fully loaded modern day technology specifications in its stream of phone models. This includes a fast fingerprint sensor built into the power button, the first new imaging sensor, resolution bumped up by 15 percent to 23 megapixels and the 5.5-inch Xperia Z5 Premium, will be available later in the year with a 4K display.
Further, Sony Xperia M5, Xperia M4 Aqua, Xperia C5 Ultra, Xperia C4, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z3+ will skip Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and jump directly to Android Marshmallow 6.0 version. Transition of these devices from Android Lollipop to Android M will be gradual and will wary from region to region. A Z4 tablet is expected to have Android M in Janaury 2016. The new Android Marshmallow version offers a new feature 'Doze' which means that the phone or tablet will go into hibernate mode if not in use for specified time thereby saving the battery life, said Yibada.
