Lindsay Lohan news reported that the former Disney star wants to run for president in 2020. Even though the Instagram announcement was reported by Fox News and other media sites, the "Mean Girls" actress' previous posts makes it seem like she could just be joking about the presidential bid.
The controversial celebrity uploaded a series of Instagram posts about her presidential bid last weekend.
She also wrote about her support for hip-hop star Kanye West, who announced his 2020 presidential bid during the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards last August.
"In #2020 I may run for president," Lindsay Lohan said. "Through ups and downs #YESWECAN let's do this @kanyewest."
The redhead also mentioned that US president Barack Obama inspired her.
"Thank you for inspiring us to be better people @barackobama #kanyewest2020 #lindsaylohanat35 #lindsaylohan2020," she wrote.
Lindsay Lohan quickly made news for her unexpected announcement, which she followed with several other posts about what she will do as president. The former teen star mentioned that Queen Elizabeth also inspired her after her brief stay in London last year.
"The first thing I would like to do as president of US is take care of all of the children suffering in the world," she said. "Queen Elizabeth showed me how by having me in her country."
USA Today also reported about Lindsay Lohan's Instagram posts about running for president. One of the images that she uploaded showed her doing charity work, which was posted beside a photo of Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi.
"If we are to teach real peace in this world, and if we are to carry on a real war against war, we shall have to begin with the children," her post read.
However, some suspect that the notorious party girl is only joking about running for president.
According to a report from Mirror UK, Lindsay Lohan previously made news for sharing weird insights on Instagram, so her presidential bid announcement might also not be serious.
Last September, the actress alarmed fans with Instagram messages about "being friends" with late pop star Michael Jackson. She also pleaded with God and Allah in other posts.
"Michael Jackson #RIP miss you as my real only private friend," Lindsay Lohan wrote.
"For you: God, for all hurts and wrongs, please let me forgive[...] Allah please let me be forgiven, and all forgive themselves. Please and thank you."
