Although there's no official plot yet for "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice," it didn't stop fans from coming up with theories on the possible storyline for the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel based on the trailer.
From Doomsday being the main villain to the resurrection of General Zod after he was killed by Superman in "Man of Steel," websites have been speculating about the plot for the upcoming film while director Zach Snyder yet to confirm or deny the rumors.
Michael Shannon explained his appearance in the "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" trailer, and yes, he's still dead.
"Yeah, I say some stuff," he told Cinema Blend. "But not a whole lot! I mean, I am dead. [Laughs] ... I'm just like a ghost. It's kind of like Russell Crowe in the first one. Jor-El. For some reason, these Kryptonian spirits, they linger. Even once you crack my neck, you can't shut me up."
There must be a villain to force Ben Affleck's character and Henry Cavill's character, along with Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, to put aside their differences to face a bigger threat.
For now, said Movie Pilot, the plot will revolve around Batman's obsession and paranoia about Superman, as evidenced from the dream sequence in the desert where he's fighting a bunch of men in black gear with Superman's logo on their shoulders.
"It makes sense that this is Bruce's paranoid imagination," it said. "It's hard to believe any (good) version of Superman would have a dedicated and ruthless army that worships him, and definitely not the Superman of a world that is clearly biased against him after the events of Man Of Steel."
The article pointed to a major hint when Mattel Toys unveiled an action figure of Ben Affleck's character dubbed "Knightmare Batman."
Watch out for more "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" cast rumors, news and plot updates which will be revealed when they come along ahead of the release date on March 25, 2016.
