Blake Lively shared an Instagram photo from her dorky teen days. The "Gossip Girl" lead star made fun of the image, which was reported by Us Weekly, amid the recent closure of her lifestyle brand and website, Preserve.
The funny snapshot uploaded by Blake Lively on Instagram last Tuesday showed an old sweatshirt that she supposedly wore a lot as a teenager.
The sweatshirt's design was a fictional magazine called "Sports Time," and the cover image featured Blake Lively's face superimposed onto a swimsuit model's body.
The spoof image also showed her brother, Eric Lively, whose face was placed on top of a bulky bodybuilder. Both their faces contained dorky smiles that seemingly showed they were currently going through an awkward teenage phase that time.
Now a Hollywood It Girl, Blake Lively made fun of the throwback photo to the delight of her 4.4 million Instagram followers. The blond stunner even called out the editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine, which featured her before.
"Dear Anna Wintour, my awesome taste in fashion started young," the 27-year-old joked before confessing about the sweatshirt. "Oh yeah, I wore this sweatshirt. Often. Please don't tell a soul."
Blake Lively's Instagram throwback makes it seem like she is in good spirits even after the recent closure of her lifestyle website, Preserve, after just one year.
In a feature with Vogue, the wife of Ryan Reynolds explained why she had to temporarily close the e-commerce page, which features fashion, recipes, artisan items and other lifestyle pieces that she curated herself.
"I haven't created something that is as true and impactful as I know it can and will be," Blake Lively admitted.
"[I know] people are just going to have a heyday with this [closure], [but] I'm going to take this hit, and the only way I can prove all the negative reactions wrong is to come back with a plan that will rock people."
"I have that plan. And I'm so excited about it, and that's what gave me the courage to do this," she added.
