After the box- office success of three sequels of "Transformers" franchise directed by Michael Bay, he is planning to return as the director of the fifth film. With the "Transformers" 5 release date set in 2017 the fifth instalment would reportedly envelope the movie franchise.

A large number of people who have previously worked with movies like "Iron Man", "The Walking Dead", and "Lost" have been elected to work on the screenplay of the latest Transformers film. Few of them include Akiva Goldsman, Zach Penn, Robert Kirkman, Art Marcum and Gabriel Ferreri.
With Mark Wahlberg mentioning during "Transformers" 4 that he signed for several appearances in the film, there is a possibility that he will be returning back for the main role in "Transformers" 5. There is also a likelihood of Shia Labeouf and Megan Fox to be coming back for the 5th instalment.

According to Gospel Herald Entertainment, Michael Bay has new plans and course in store for the upcoming sequel of "Transformers." The alleged plots to be as follows- the first takes place on Earth with incidents occurring in life of Cade Yeager (supposedly played by Wahlberg) and his squad of auto-bots and dino-bots fighting together to save the world.
The second summarizes Optimus Prime's trip in space searching and discovering his creators and ancestors, the Quintessons. Both the plots are to happen in space, hence, the film may have minimum human characters. The latest "Transformers" film will also feature a new villain in the form of a huge transformer called Unicorn.
With the new "Transformers" film on the cards, the franchise fans are eagerly waiting for its release. "There is some kind of fresh chapter, a latest direction in films that I want to create. I have so many stories to share and it is about doubling up new muscles," said Bay, according to Realty Today.
