Microsoft Corporation will have to operate without Joe Belfiore, vice-president of the Windows Team, for a year starting this November. Belfiore announced his plans on Wednesday through a post on Facebook, reported Microsoft News.
At Microsoft Corporation, Joe Belfiore handles Windows user experience which runs devices like Lumias and Surface Hub. He will spend a year-long hiatus to be with his family and he will not be there when the Windows 10 Mobile will launch. After a year, Belfiore will be back at Microsoft with the same position in summer.
Belfiore has been the face of Microsoft Windows Phone, taking a bigger role to handle Windows on tablets, PCs and phones a few years ago. When Microsoft introduced its new Windows 10 devices early October, Belfiore was noticeably not around, said The Verge.
In his post, Belfiore counted his blessings which he and his wife Kristina have been trying to tell their children how fortunate they are and to be equally appreciative. The family will join an EDUCATION TRIP OF A LIFETIME, a SEMESTER AT SEA where they will take a long journey around the world. The floating college campus will be in January and has more than 600 college students, some faculty and "lifelong partners."
Belfiore said they are trying to spend more quality life with the children and the floating college is a great opportunity.
He has spent 25 of his years in Microsoft Corporation, which Joe Belfiore said is a considerate and thoughtful company with values that align with his. It has a supportive management that backs his plans. They will take their kids to family and friends in northeast US before the sea trip. They will return in time for summer when the children can go back to the usual U.S. school routine and Belfiore to Microsoft.
