The latest news on Salma Hayek was how her daughter was targeted with racist slurs, but Valentina handled the situation like a mature individual.

In an interview with French news publication, as shared by TVNotas, Salma Hayek recounted that she witnessed how her daughter with Francois-Henri Pinault was a subject of insults laced with racist undertones by another boy.

"My daughter was insulted by another child. Racial slurs," she said. "I tried to politely ask the other child to shut up, but no way. And his mother did not try to do anything to stop it, I found it all crazy. I had to take my daughter's hand and leave from there so that the situation does not get worse. "

But Salma Hayek's her daughter handled the racist insults like an adult.

"When we had already gone far enough, I looked at her and said, 'I wish I had been more firm with that child who insulted you,'" she said. "But she looked back at me and said 'It was so silly that I have not paid attention."

Clearly, her celebrity status, along with a billionaire for a husband, does not insulate Salma Hayek from racism. And the "Frida" actress even shared to a news publication how she's become a victim of racism herself.

During an interview with Huffington Post, she said, "I think America has a very severe problem with discrimination that we try to overlook. It's there."

"I have a whole book that I could write about these moments, that are very memorable," Salma Hayek said of her experiences regarding racism. "But I have to say they never really quite hurt me. I was like 'Woah, you're dumb, my goodness you are so ignorant.' I sort of felt sorry for this person for just being so out of touch with the world, with his own humanity."
