Jordan Clarkson was injured during the last preseason game with the Golden State Warriors, and Los Angeles Lakers fans-still stung from the freak injuries to its roster the past two years-wait with bated breath for any news update.

Right after the match, the coach staff took a rather conservative estimate as to the extent of the injury as Jordan Clarkson was reportedly ruled out for the first game of the 2015-2016 season next Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Even Jordan Clarkson himself thought that the injury wasn't severe and he expects to be back for the season opener, although coach Byron Scott is doubtful.

The sophomore guard, who had a breakout year during the 2014-2015 season where he made All Rookie First Team, was among the brightest spots for the team's rebuilding plans.

The Lakers fans must have breathed a collective sigh of relief on the news update of Jordan Clakrson's injury after Baxter Holmes of ESPN reported that the MRI results on the right shoulder of the point guard came back as "normal."

"The Lakers can ill-afford to lose Clarkson for any long period of time," fan site Lakers Nation said. "Kobe Bryant has already missed the last three preseason games, though Scott has maintained that he will play in the season opener. Losing Clarkson as well would rob the Lakers of arguably their second best scorer."

Kobe Bryant's injury wasn't serious, however, and sitting him down for the rest of the preseason was more of a precaution than anything else. Coach Byron Scott had said that the Los Angeles Lakers superstar will play the season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves, a much anticipated game between, Karl-Anthony Towns and D'Angelo Russell, the first and second pick, respectively, in the 2015 draft.

Watch out for more updates on Jordan Clarkson injury as well as his rehab program which will be published here when they become available.
