Lee Bo Young and Ji Sung won't be the only celebrities getting married in September. Actor Bae Soo Bin, who announced his plans to marry his non-celebrity girlfriend in May, has finally set a wedding date. That date is Sept. 14 and the ceremony will take place at the Seoul Shilla Hotel.
Fellow actors Jung Jin Young and Lee Kwang Soo will each host half of the wedding ceremony. Singers Kim Yeon Woo and Lee Eun Mi will perform, along with cellist Kim Gyu Sik.
The bride-to-be is a 30-year-old graduate student. The actor is 36.
"Bae Soo Bin first met his fiancée last year through a friend and they started dating at the beginning of this year," said his agency, BH Entertainment, when the actor announced his engagement in May.
After only a few months of dating, the couple decided they were meant to be life partners. The families met in May and the couple decided on a fall wedding.
"They decided to marry quickly which is a sign of how much they love each other," said a representative from his agency.
They also described his bride-to-be.
"She has a lovely personality and is an accomplished graduate student. She is hard-working and very considerate."
At the time Bae Soo Bin also released a statement about his marriage plans.
"I hope you send us much love and many blessings for our new start," he said. "I will work hard to live up to expectations as an actor and also as the head of my own family."
Before meeting his fiancée, Bae Soo Bin had a seven-year relationship with another non-celebrity girlfriend. They broke up in 2011. The actor said that their busy schedules kept them apart and it strained the relationship. Unlike some other celebrities, Bae never tried to hide the fact that he was dating and was also open about the end of the relationship.
Bae is best known for his roles in the dramas "49 Days," "Temptation of an Angel," "Dong Yi," and "Brilliant Legacy." He also played King Jeongo in the drama "Painter of the Wind." His film career began in 2001 with "Club Butterfly" and his most recent films were "26 Years" and "Mai Ratima." His last film, "Mai Ratima" about a poor man and his mail order bride, won the Panel Award at the Deauville Asia Film Festival and was also invited to the Montreal World Film Festival.
He will appear in the new KBS melodrama "Secrets," with Ji Sung, Lee Da Hee and Hwang Jung Eum. The new drama premieres in September.
