"Castle" season 8 took a downward turn with the breakup between Rick Castle and Kate Beckett. But spoilers for episode 6 promises a fun time for fans with the return of hot-tempered Detective Slaughter.

Detective Slaughter, with his unconventional ways and penchant for violence, appeared way back in season 4 in the episode "Headhunters." And during that time Rick vowed that he would never work with the detective ever again.

The synopsis for episode 6 of "Castle" season 8 teased some spoilers as it reads, "Detective Slaughter (guest star Adam Baldwin) returns to enlist Castle's help in solving a high-stakes robbery case. But when a body is found linked to the crime, Slaughter becomes the number one suspect in the heist turned murder, while Castle has to determine whether he's guilty or help to prove he's innocent."

It would be a good opportunity for Rick to show his professionalism as he has to set aside his feelings for detective Slaughter to arrive at the truth without any biases. Also, it's a good diversion for fans to take their minds away from the Rick and Beckett split.

The guest stars for this particular episode include Adam Baldwin as Detective Slaughter, Corey Reynolds as Mark West, Kerry Barker as Dawn and Brian Gaskill as David Lacey. It is directed by Paul Holahan and written by Alexi Hawley.

The "Castle" cast is led by Nathan Fillion as Richard Castle and Stana Katic as NYPD Detective Kate Beckett. They are joined by regulars Jon Huertas as Javier Esposito, Seamus Dever as Kevin Ryan, Tamala Jones as Lanie Parish, Molly Quinn as Alexis Castle and Susan Sullivan as Martha Rodgers.
