It's official! News has revealed that Elizabeth Banks will be returning to direct "Pitch Perfect 3" which will still include cast members Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson.

The news was broke by Variety when it reported that the "Walk of Shame" actress has agreed to a deal with Universal and Gold Circle Entertainment to helm the third installment in the franchise.

"Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow and Rebel Wilson have already closed deals to return, with Kay Cannon on board to pen the script," it said. "The studio recently dated the film to bow on Aug. 4, 2017, but at the time Banks was weighing other projects to direct and hadn't committed to return."

In an interview with Yahoo's Katie Couric Elizabeth Banks said directing "Pitch Perfect" has been a dream because it's hard for women in the industry to be entrusted with an expensive film.

"Parity in Hollywood is going to require that those in power share a little of that power. So it requires a real partnership with the men in our industry," she said.

Elizabeth Banks also claimed that successful women directors have a responsibility "to convince the powers that be, the money, that we are capable of spending that money wisely, and turning it around, like I did with 'Pitch Perfect 2.'"

"Pitch Perfect 2" grossed $285,165,784 in the box-office, according to the report, on a budget of just $29 million.

The 2012 original grossed $113 million worldwide, while "Pitch Perfect 2″ has more than doubled that, grossing $286 million worldwide to date on a $29 million budget. The first film was quite a surprise after it raked in $115 million worldwide on just a budget of $17 million.

The first installment also launched Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson to stardom.

Elizabeth Banks has not revealed spoilers for "Pitch Perfect 3" but news revealed that the script is going to be written by Kay Cannon who also penned the first two films.
