Carrie Underwood gushed on Twitter about someone who she admitted is her "massive crush." According to a report from Us Weekly, the "Smoke Break" singer got starstruck after being called out by a popular actor.
The 32-year-old Nashville artist recently confessed in an interview that she has always admired veteran actor Patrick Stewart.
"Always have, always will," the country superstar said about her 75-year-old celebrity crush.
The "Star Wars" actor responded to the confession by sharing an image of Carrie Underwood's magazine interview on his Twitter page.
"@carrieunderwood's words excite me more than the solid results of my recent bone density scan," Patrick Stewart said.
Carrie Underwood took to Twitter to express her excitement over Patrick Stewart mentioning her.
"Freaking out right now!" the songstress tweeted. "He knows I'm alive!"
"Play it cool, Carrie... play it cool," she jokingly added.
Prior to Carrie Underwood's fangirl moment on Twitter over Patrick Stewart, the Grammy-winning artist has recently been flaunting a sexier and edgier image.
Per a report from E! Online, the former "American Idol" champion defended her new direction, which is in line with her new album "Storyteller."
"I really hope that people that have been with me for the past 10 years like this direction that we've gone in," Carrie Underwood said.
"I just can't force it. It's just kind of where everything took me this time. So, I really hope that they enjoy this new sound."
Even though she has been known for her wholesome Christian image, Entertainment Tonight recently reported that Carrie Underwood is happy with her new-found self-confidence as showcased in "Storyteller."
"I want to grow as an artist," she explained.
"I just want every album to have its own feeling. So with this one, with Storyteller, things ended up being more twangy but kinda this cool, edgy twang, like a rock twang."
"It just ended up being a new thing for me, which I'm really excited about," the singer-songwriter added.
