YouTube Red Pewdiepie Urges Users To Opt For Paid Subscription

YouTube Red PewDiePie is the username of Felix Kjellberg who has more than 40 million subscribers. He provides content on his channel on YouTube and will now provide content exclusively to YouTube Red subscribers. He recently addressed issues related to YouTube Red, which is the paid subscription service urging viewers to pay $10 per month to view ad free content.

However, most users are used to using Adblock for blocking ads on YouTube. Infact, YouTube Red Pewdiepie also confirmed that nearly 0 percent of his viewers use Adblock to avoid advertisements blocking the streaming of the content on YouTube. He had pulled this number from his own Google analytics and statistics.

He also stated that youtbe Red is a direct response to the growing number of people using Adblock which has made YouTube unprofitable.

Further, it also matched with the results from another Twitter poll conducted by twitter user with handle KickThePJ, said Adweek. A twitter poll conducted by KickThePJ revealed that nearly 93 percent of his viewers were unlikely to subscribe to the content provided by YouTube Red on the basis of subscription paid.

In his blog, the vlogger, YouTube Red Pewdiepie, urged user to opt for the paid subscription of YouTube as using Adblock was hurting the creators. While YouTube Red offered ad-free viewing as well as offline viewing, background videos and music streaming, it provided 55 percent of the share to the creators.

YouTube Red Pewdiepie also stated that most of the YouTube viewers are 13-19 years old who may not be able to afford the subscription. Further, he also stated that using adblock would hurt creators with less number of viewers. He also commented that he agreed that ads were annoying while watching a YouTube video but using Adblock did not mean that you are clever and above the system, stated Digital Music News.
