Image sharing site, Pinterest, has announced it has rolled out 'Buyable Pins' feature on Android in the United States. The feature debuted on iOS at the end of June. Since the feature's launch, over 60 million buyable Pins have been created on the social network.
Previously, when users wished to purchase any of the tees, candles or scarves on Pinterest, they had to navigate to the seller's website to make the purchase. Thanks to 'Buyable Pins' feature that users can now directly buy their favorite stuff immediately upon seeing it on their dashboards, only if it's marked as a buyable item.
In order to make a purchase, users can search for Buyable Pins, filter by price and, on finding one, they can scroll through high quality images, select their size and color, click 'Buy It' and pay with a credit card, from the app itself.
Last month, Buyable Pins got new platform integrations including IBM Commerce, Magento, and Bigcommerce and also availability for more merchants. The company said it had doubled the number of buyable pins in last three months.
The image sharing site has also announced the launch of mobile app store, the Pinterest Shop, which curates all of the trending buyable pins in one place, reported Digitla Trends.
"Now you can shop the best of Pinterest at our brand new Shop. Stop by every day for new collections - from entertaining essentials to cozy winter accessories - hand-picked by us at Pinterest," the company said in a blog post.
"Look for products from brands you know and love, like Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom, and small boutiques you might not find anywhere else, like The Citizenry and Heist."
Users will be able to access 'The Pinterest Shop' by clicking on the explore/search icon and scrolling to the Shop category. All of the company's retail partners will have their Buyable Pins included in this section, with no fee for being featured, said Venture Beat.
The Pinterest Shop will be rolling out over the next couple of weeks.
