Google has released November update of the Android platform distribution data which suggests the recently released Google Android 6.0 Marshmallow mobile operating system has managed to capture only a third of a percent.
Last month, the search giant had revealed that active devices running Android 6.0 Marshmallow accounted for less than 0.1 percent of the total Android devices visiting the Play store. This month, Google Android 6.0 Marshmallow share has gone up to 0.3 percent, reported Venture Beat.
According to the distribution data of different Android versions, Android 5.x Lollipop currently accounts for a total share of 25.6 percent of active Android devices (with Android 5.0 running on 15.5 percent of devices and Android 5.1 on 10.1 percent) as compared to 23.5 percent reported in October, marking an increase of around 2.1 percent.
Android 4.4 KitKat is still the number one version of Android accounting for 37.8 percent share, down slightly from 38.9 percent last month.
Meanwhile, Jelly Bean (Android 4.1-4.3) reported an adoption rate of 29 percent, down from 30.2 percent in October. Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich fell 0.1 percent to finish at 3.3 percent. Finally, Android 2.3 and Android 2.2 finished with 3.8 and 0.2 percent, respectively, reported Trusted Reviews.
With Google Android 6.0 Marshmallow debut at a low figure, analysts say Android 6 watchers may have to wait before Android phones will receive an 6.0 update.
At the moment, Android 6 Marshmallow mobile operating system is pretty much only available on Nexus devices so far. It is expected that the numbers will change shortly when the HTC One A9 begins rolling out to customers.
