Motorola has reportedly taken the wraps off the new Moto G smartphone variant dubbed as Moto G Turbo Edition in Mexico.
Powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, the Motorola Moto G Turbo Edition runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box and features a 5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) resolution display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.
While, it's not clear why the makers decided against the handset running Marshmallow out of the box, but it's certain that an update is on the cards.
The smartphone packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded via a microSD card. It is backed by 2470mAh battery and supports Motorola Turbo Power, providing up to 8 hours of battery life with just 15 minutes of charging, reported GSMArena.
The Motorola Moto G Turbo Edition features a 13-megapixel primary camera with f/2.0 aperture on the rear and a 5-megapixel front shooter with f/2.2 aperture for selfies.
The smartphone carries IP67 certification meaning that the device can withstand being submerged in up to a meter of water for half-an-hour and is also dust resistant.
The Motorola Moto G Turbo Edition is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts two Micro-SIM. As far as connectivity options are concerned, the smartphone features all the regular options including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 LE, 3G, GPS, and Micro-USB. Sensors on the phone include Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, and Gyroscope.
According to The Gadgets Freak, the Motorola Moto G Turbo Edition will be made available in Mexico from November 13 onward at a price of $283. There's currently no information if or when the phone will be released in other markets from around the globe.
