The Microsoft Store is now selling the super light LG Windows 10 notebooks, which were announced in September. The 13.3-inch LG Gram 13Z950 and the 14-inch LG Gram 14Z950 both weigh 2.16 pounds, reported Windows Central.
Digital Trends reckoned that last year, it gave the LG Ultra PC laptop a "Best of Computing" award at CES because of its shockingly slim system which debuted a thin bezel display.
What was surprising they said, was that the manufacturer was LG, which was not known in the US as a PC builder because the South Korean company did not bring the Ultra PC line to the US.
Now, LG changed its mind as it introduced LG Gram laptops in September.
Microsoft Store tagged the LG Gram 13Z950 $899. The laptop sports a 13.3-inch full HD display and is powered by an Intel Core i5-5200U processor which works with a 128GB SSD storage and 8GB RAM. Meanwhile, the $999-priced bigger 14Z950 has a similar full HD display and processor, storage and RAM; and it offers another variant with a faster Intel Core i7-5500U processor and 256GB SSD for $1,399.
As per a PC Verge review of the LG Gram 13Z950, the device is not a touchscreen, a feature which others are longing for, its keyboard is not backlit and the keys are a bit too shallow.
However, it is easy to carry with only 971 grams weight and its IPS full HD screen is awesome. Measuring 11.9 x 8.4 x 0.5inch, its chassis is made of magnesium and polycarbonate.
The device features lithium and carbon magnesium materials which are accountable for it to be solid and strong, yet with elegant looks. According to PC Verge, these materials are far lighter than aluminium, but extremely durable.
As per Digital Trend's review of LG Gram 14Z950, it said it felt flimsy, with mediocre battery life and is expensive. Yet, its chassis is featherweight, and it has an excellent keyboard as well as a thin-bezel and high-contrast screen.
The Microsoft Store available LG Gram 13Z950 and 14Z950 both reportedly have batteries that can last up to 7.5 hours.
