There are recent rumors that Microsoft Corporation is now working on a Cortana-based wearable. The Redmond-based tech titan is endlessly working despite having so much in its hands during the recent months, a post in Microsoft News said.
The company introduced at an October event in New York several devices like the Microsoft Band 2, Surface Pro 4, Surface Book, Lumia 950 and 950 XL and the Pixel C laptop. While the Microsoft Band 2 wearable already has the Windows digital assistant, Microsoft Corporation is now rumored to be working on another wearable, solely based on Cortana.
However, it will not be worn on the wrist but as an ear wear. Rumored to be dubbed "Clip," it may may even compete with Moto Hint, though it is unknown if it will like be an earbud. However, its name likely implies an accessory.
Wareable suspected that it may work with Siri and Google Now on Apple and Android devices, respectively. The wearable is still in its early stage but its prototype may already be available this year and its release will likely be sometime next year.
If Microsoft Corporation's upcoming Cortana-based wearable is to be worn in the ears, then it will be "hearables," as Wareable called it. The website was told by someone close to the project that the dedicated Cortana device will contend with Moto Hint and will be intended mainly for busy women.
It is heard that Microsoft is researching on how people use this device to hear messages and interact with the digital assistant via voice. One application is giving parents reminders about their kids.
In the Microsoft Band 2, Cortana works to give workout reminders as well as guided training, but it is worn on the wrist. Hearables like the Bragi Dash and Motorola's effort got lots of attention with its various uses, including tracking fitness and controlling smart homes.
