Smartphone maker HTC has reportedly delayed shipment of its recently launched HTC One A9 handset in the U.S.

In emails sent to customers who pre-ordered for the One A9, HTC announced that the new handset, which was earlier scheduled to start shipping last week, will now start moving on Tuesday, November 10, reported TechnoBuffalo. The original shipment date for pre-orders was Friday, November 6.

According to HTC, the grey and silver One A9 variants on AT&T and T-Mobile will be the first to get shipped, while Sprint orders will follow in late November. The gold variant on AT&T and T-Mobile will begin to ship in late November, while Sprint customers will have to wait until mid-December.

Customers, who pre-ordered a red variant of the handset, will have to wait the longest as AT&T and T-Mobile pre-orders will start shipping in early December, while those on Sprint will ship in mid-December, reported DigitalTrends.

The same email states that HTC has delayed support for Verizon. The Verizon variant, which was originally supposed to arrive in November, was first pushed back to December. Now, the email notes that the handset won't be available in December as well.

In terms of when the handset will be available, HTC noted it is working with Verizon to make it available as soon as possible.

The HTC One A9 features a 5-inch 1080p display, a Snapdragon 617 processor, 3GB of RAM and a 2150mAh battery. The phone packs 16GB of internal storage expandable up to 200GB via a microSD card. There's a 13-megapixel rear camera with sapphire cover lens and a 4-megapixel UltraPixel front-facing camera on board.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB. Other features include fingerprint sensor, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, gyro, and magnetic sensor. HTC One A9 is one of the first Android phones to run 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
