A Dying "Star Wars" Fan Gets To Watch The Movie Before Release Date.

Daniel Fleetwood,32, got a chance to watch the new "Star Wars" movie before everyone in the world, and before the Star Wars release date, according to CNN News. Daniel Fleetwood is suffering from cancer. Daniel is a major fan of the "Star Wars" franchise and it was his dying wish to see the movie as reported by CNN.

The movie "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is set to hit the theatres on December 18, 2015. According to CNN News, Daniel has been diagnosed with spindle cell sarcoma, a rare form of connective tissue cancer. Daniel was told by doctors in July this year that he had only two more months to live. Daniel got to see the movie when an online campaign, #ForceForDaniel gathered steam.

Mark Hamill, the actor in the "Star Wars" franchise who plays the character "Luke Skywalker", also supported the campaign. The campaign was started by his wife, Ashley Fleetwood. Daniel got to see the unedited version of the movie.

According to The Colombian, Daniel is a huge fan of the series and he has been keeping abreast of the movies since his childhood; he would watch them with his dad. When Daniel grew up, he watched the movies in the theater. The campaign reached the film-makers and actors. After Daniel saw the movie, Mark Hamill tweeted, "I just read this and I am elated for Daniel & his family! Thanks to the powers-that-be for making his dream come true."

Ashley Fleetwood thanked the friends, family and 'awesome' strangers who helped the campaign gain the momentum online. She also posted a fan-made certificate which honored Daniel as a "Jedi-king."

"Star Wars" movie was first released in the year 1977 by "20th Century Fox." The franchise came out with two more movies shortly after the first release. After a series of three movies, a prequel of three movies to the earlier set of movies was released. The series holds the Guinness World Record according to Tech News Today.com. for "Most successful film merchandising franchise." The film is directed by J.J.Abrams; written by Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan. The movie is produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Bad Robot Productions.
