Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed are snubbing the divorce rumors that haunt their marriage as they opted to talk about animal rights instead.
"The Vampire Diaries" actor and the "Twilight" star joined their hands in a video which spreads animal rights awareness, Realty Today said in a report.
Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed, who have been married since April this year, were seen holding their own dog for the video promoted by "The Human Society of the United States."
"The respect that you give to people, you give to animals," Ian Somerhalder was heard saying. "If you can build this next generation to have this type of compassion for other living creatures, it's going to span across a lot of societal issues that we've been having. Humane Society starts with you."
Nikki Reed, on the other hand, promoted the reduce of animal-made products.
"I am all for education, and all understanding of the journey. It's not about being perfect, it's not about being extreme, it's about knowing there are options out there, to help reduce our need for products made from animals, and increase our demand for US made products," the "Twilight" star said.
Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed made the video amid the rumors that they are heading for a divorce only a few months after being married, Yibada said in a report.
Rumors have it that Nina Dobrev's ex-boyfriend disapproves of Nikki Reed's new role in "Sleepy Hollow" where she needs to wear skimpy and daring clothes.
This allegedly resulted to "The Anomaly" actor's decision to divorce the brunette star.
It also did not help that Nikki Reed wants to focus on her booming career rather than start a family with Ian Somerhalder.
"Nikki Reed landed the role of Besty Ross on 'Sleepy Hollow' and has succeeded in bringing a sexy edge to the character. However, Nikki's sex appeal upsets her husband, Ian Somerhalder, as 'The Vampire Diaries' star wants her to be more motherly. The frustrations follow Somerhalder and Reed's growing feud over starting a family," a report from Celebrity Dirty Laundry said, per Yibada.
