2013 could be described as Seo In Guk's best year yet. He's in a hit drama, appears in two new films, and next month will release his second Japanese single this year.

In "The Master's Sun," Seo plays Kang Woo, the mysterious mall security guard that crushes on Gong Hyo Jin's character Tae Gong Sil. Although he previously appeared in "Love Rain," "Rascal Sons" and "Reply 1997," he was thrilled to get the part. He was especially excited about getting to work with his co-stars.

"It's such an honor to get to work with Gong Hyo Jin and So Ji Sub and I don't get to come out once in a while, I get to really interact with their characters," said Seo. "It does create some pressure but it's also fun and they are so good to me that it gives me a real energy boost."

According to a representative from the drama's production company, Seo has really matured since the drama started. He's very serous about delivering a consistent performance.

"The staff relies on his performance," said the representative. "We expect that female viewers will relate to his good looks and strong acting skills."

Seo actor is also currently filming a new movie, 'No Breathing" with co-star Lee Jong Suk. In the film, he plays a swimming prodigy who temporarily gave up swimming for a while but decides to return to it and compete for a prize.

He will also appear in the romantic comedy film "Police Family" about a policeman's daughter who marries the son of a criminal.

But acting is not all he has done this year. He has also been busy working on his music.

The world first learned about Seo In Guk when he was a contestant on the first season of "Superstar K" in 2009. Growing up in a poor family, Seo began dreaming of a career as a singer when he was only 10 years old. He was so eager to sign with an entertainment agency that he temporarily developed an eating disorder because one agency told him to lose weight. After the country voted Seo a winner, he released his first mini-album, "Calling You."

In April, he released the break-up ballad "With Laughter or with Tears" and actress Gu Hye Sun appeared on the music video. She composed another song for him.

A few weeks later he released the ballad "Fly Away" in Japan. His second Japanese single this year was "We Can Dance Tonight," an electronic dance track. His music video for the second single shows him as the host of a masquerade dance party.

"We Can Dance Tonight" will be released in October and "The Master's Sun" is leading viewer polls.
