Actor Lee Byung Hun recently did an interview about the upcoming film The Match where he too mentioned his co-star Yoo Ah In and the struggles the artist has been facing.

This interview was conducted on March 21, 2025, before the film's premiere on March 26.
Yoo Ah In has been embroiled in a big drug scandal that postponed the film's release for almost four years.
However, Lee expressed his admiration for Yoo's performance, stating that he delivered an "excellent job" in his role as Lee Chang Ho, a steadfast figure in contrast to Lee's character, Cho Hun Hyun.
"I really enjoyed acting with him," Lee was quoted by Koreaboo as saying while citing MyDaily.
"While my character is outspoken and aggressive, Yoo's character is like an immovable rock. I believe this stark contrast will engage the audience."
Despite the turmoil surrounding the scandal, Lee remained supportive of his co-star and acknowledged the difficult situation for everyone involved in the production.
He noted the anxiety felt by the film's director and cast members during the prolonged wait for release.
"Everyone involved in the film must have been worried sick, wondering, 'What if it never gets released?'" Lee remarked.
"More than anything, I'm just glad because I really wanted to see the director smile."
The Match tells the story of legendary South Korean baduk (Go) master Cho Hun Hyun, who challenges himself to reclaim his status after losing to his protégé.
The film was completed in 2021 and is finally set to premiere this week.
