During a recent interview, Jinyoung shared his experience filming the kiss scenes in his much-anticipated film, You Are the Apple of My Eye.

The actor spoke candidly about his feelings while filming — especially regarding the same-sex kiss scene — in an interview with Xports News on February 27.

Written and directed by Cho Young-young, the movie centers around 18-year-old Jin-woo (Jinyoung), who deals with the complexities of first love at the age of 18. Dahyun of TWICE plays Seon-ah.

Regarding Dahyun's casting, Jinyoung said, 'We only greeted each other briefly so far. We had never collaborated on any project.

"As soon as I heard that Dahyun was cast in the movie 'You Are the Apple of My Eye,' I was reminded of the Dahyun that I knew before seeing her cute side, and she would fit the character right."

Jinyoung continued, "She gives me that whole model student role, neat and proper. I was like, why not let her do what she does? That would be good."

The movie has a heated kiss scene between Jin-woo and Seon-ah's husband, a scene people were looking forward to. Filming this scene was a first for Jinyoung, as he revealed.

"I actually had never done a same-sex kiss scene before this. I was really nervous. And all I could feel was the first sensation and the emotion that I had never felt before," he said.

"My co-star, Son Woo Hyun, and I were just sighing while waiting for the scene. We were both just like, But how do we do this?'

Jinyoung pondered about filming his kiss scene with Dahyun and how he believed that scene was easier to film because of how the same-sex kiss felt.

"The fact that I had already experienced that before made it a lot easier for me. She told me it was her first kiss on camera, so she was super nervous," Jinyoung said.

"I did everything (within reason) to make her feel comfortable," he added.

Jinyoung also spoke to the fans, especially Dahyun's fans, who might be upset about it. He jokingly said, "I have my own fans to worry about, too, so I was hoping they could relate."

"To be honest, I was worried. I even said to Dahyun, 'Will I be alright? The fans that come to ours are genuine and lovely people, so it should be fine,' she said to me."

"You Are the Apple of My Eye," which gives you a taste of the ups and downs of young love, is now available in theaters.
