Grey's Anatomy

Former "Grey's Anatomy" actor Patrick Dempsey was snapped looking very sharp in a blue blazer and skinny jeans while arriving at the LAX airport on Friday, in the wake of the confession by Shonda Rhimes that she's not above killing off a character that she disliked.

Patrick Dempsey has been shooting the sequel to "Bridget Jones Diary" in London, although his character is yet to be revealed.

In an interview on The Nightly Show on Wednesday, Shonda Rhimes was asked by host Larry Wilmore, "Have you ever killed off a character because you didn't like the actor?. And extra bonus points, who was it? Don't even think about lying."

Shonda Rhimes answered, "Yes, and I'm not naming names."

Although the showrunner did not mention Patrick Dempsey, rumors of tension on the set between the "Grey's Anatomy" actor and Shonda Rhimes have been going on for some time now.

"Derek Shepherd was shockingly killed off in a car crash before the Grey's Anatomy Season 11 finale," reported Hollywood Take. "While Patrick Dempsey had expressed a desire to eventually leave the show, McDreamy's death seemed to come out of nowhere."

"Dempsey had even signed a contract to appear in Season 12. So many speculated that Shonda Rhimes actually fired Patrick Dempsey from Grey's Anatomy."

To his credit, Patrick Dempsey has always been a gentleman when asked about being killed off on "Grey's Anatomy."

"It just sort of evolved. It just kind of happened. [Being written off] was something that was kind of surprising and uh, just naturally came to be. I like the way it has all played out," he told Entertainment Weekly.

Patrick Dempsey also denied having any feud with Shonda Rhimes, who allegedly killed off his character on "Grey's Anatomy" out of spite, and fellow actor, Ellen Pompeo.

"Are you leaving in a good place with your fellow actors?" the EW interviewer asked.

"I think so, yes," he replied.

"Shonda?"

"Yes."

"What about Ellen?"

"Very good."
