Lindsay Lohan posted another controversial Instagram selfie that was criticized by her followers.
According to a report from People, the "Mean Girls" lead star shared a photo of herself dressed as actress and murder victim Sharon Tate, complete with a '60s floral crop top, matching short shorts and vintage boots.
The selfie was posted on the same day as the birthday of Charles Manson, who murdered a then-pregnant Sharon Tate in 1969. The 81-year-old convict is currently serving nine consecutive life sentences at Corcoran State Prison in California.
The sensitivity of the issue was highlighted with how Lindsay Lohan casually shared the Instagram post. "I LOVE SHARON TATE #CANCERmeetsAQUARIUS #themelook #hippieWINTERCHIC," the 29-year-old actress wrote alongside the photo.
Some of Lindsay Lohan's 4 million Instagram followers called her out for the seemingly distasteful post.
"I'm not sure if you realized that you posted the photo on Manson's 81st birthday," one commenter pointed out.
"I'm sure she would be proud that you are celebrating her on her killer's birthday," another follower sarcastically wrote.
Prior to her bizarre Sharon Tate tribute, Lindsay Lohan's previous social media posts have also alarmed her fans and loved ones.
One was a post reported by Mirror UK a few months ago, wherein the former Disney star rambled about late singer Michael Jackson being her "real only private friend" and asked forgiveness from Allah.
"#Michaeljackson #RIP miss you as my real only private friend," Lindsay Lohan captioned the shot, which showed her drinking at a bar.
"For you: god, for all hurts and wrongs, please let me forgive, Allah please let me be forgiven, and all forgive themselves. Please and thank you."
Another controversial Instagram rant by Lindsay Lohan was about her alleged presidential bid for the 2020 elections.
Fox News reported about the post, wherein she also wrote about her support for rapper and aspiring presidentiable Kanye West.
"In #2020 I may run for president," Lindsay Lohan wrote. "Through ups and downs #YESWECAN let's do this @kanyewest."
The former child star also said that her decision to run for public office was inspired by US president Barack Obama.
"Thank you for inspiring us to be better people @barackobama #kanyewest2020 #lindsaylohanat35 #lindsaylohan2020," Lindsay Lohan wrote.
