The Tokyo Motor Show 2015 has reigned supreme as the No. 1 auto show in Asia for some time. However, the recent growth of the Chinese auto market has shifted some of the focus to the mainland. The 2015 Tokyo Motor Show opened on October 29 at the Big Sight in Ariake, Koto-ku, Tokyo and closed on November 8.

The Motor Show was described as "techno-centric" with a look toward the future of automobiles by MTS India.

The Tokyo Motor Show showcased Japan's prominent auto-makers along with pint-sized "kei" cars that emphasize Japan's fascination with space.

The 2015 Tokyo Motor Show ended as the LA Auto Show is about to begin.

Before heading to the "City of Angels" for the LA Auto Show, here's a recap of some of the trending automobiles from the 2015 Tokyo Auto Show from a report by the New York Daily News.

The Nissan IDS was a new concept this year which brought autonomous driving to center stage in Tokyo. All major car shows have trends that follow the bigger trends.

Behind the self-driving car trend at the 2015 Tokyo Auto Show was the electric-vehicle, another big porfolio among Japanese automakers' lineup.

Other concept cars included the Nissan Teatro and the Mitsubishi eX.

The 44th Tokyo Motor Show was hosted by Patron, "Her Imperial Highness Princess Yohko of Mikasa."

"The theme of the 44th Tokyo Motor Show 2015 is "Your heart will race," said a press release from the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc.

"Aiming to become the top technology motor show in the world, this will be a comprehensive show, exhibiting passenger cars, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, Carrozzeria, vehicle bodies, parts, machinery and tools, automobile-related services, as well as SMART MOBILITY CITY 2015."

160 exhibitors from eleven countries were present at the Tokyo show and all 14 automakers and 15 brands from the domestic market and 26 foreign brands participated at the themed auto show.
