Zayn Malik opened up to Fader for the first time since he quit "One Direction" boys' band as well as after his split with his Ex-Fiancée Perrie Edwards. The singer said that he always loved Edwards and will love her despite their split.
It was believed widely that Malik ended his engagement with "Little Mix" star through a text message. But Malik clarified that he wouldn't do that to a girl whom he loves and respects a lot, according to Mirror.
Zayn Malik Respects And Loves Perrie Edwards
"I have more respect for Perrie than to end anything over text message," Malik noted. "I love her a lot, and I always will, and I would never end our relationship over four years like that. She knows that, I know that, and the public should know that as well. I don't want to explain why or what I did, I just want the public to know I didn't do that," he added.
Malik also said that he wanted to quit "One Direction" band right from the start. He noted that he had no room for experimenting new things in the band. The singer added that whenever he suggested something new it wasn't taken into account since they felt that it did not fit the band's music.
The young singer admitted that "One Direction" is not the kind of music he would listen to. The 22-year-old also revealed that "One Direction" is not the music a person would listen to on a date with a girl at the dinner table, reported Guardian.
Zayn Malik Had No Room For Experiments In "One Direction"
"There was never any room for me to experiment creatively in the band," Malik said. "If I would sing a hook or a verse slightly R&B, or slightly myself, it would always be recorded 50 times until there was a straight version that was pop, generic as f..., so they could use that version," he added.
