A page turner is generally a book you can't put down and given the talented young actors who will star in the new "Drama Special - A Page Turner," viewers may not be able to stop watching.
Kim So Hyun, who played twin students in her recent drama "Who Are You - School 2015?" and Ji Soo, who played a student in "Angry Mom," will play the title characters in this three-episode coming-of-age story.
Ji Soo will play Jung Cha Sik, a short-tempered high school student who has to give up his dream of becoming an athlete after he has an accident.
"I'm happy to have another opportunity to act in a coming-of-age story, which is my favorite," said Ji Soo in an interview with the Korean media outlet TVJ.com.
Kim So Hyun plays Yoon Yoo Seul, a piano prodigy. Her talent led her to win various contests. But that does not mean her life is easy. Her mother is trying to live her own unrealized dreams through her daughter and pushes her relentlessly. When she is injured in an accident, Yoo Seul worries that she will never play again.
With the help of Jung Cha Sik and his rival Jin Mok, played by Shin Jae Ha, she finds new direction for her life.
The drama offers Kim So Hyun a chance to reunite with screenwriter Park Hye Ryeon, who wrote the screenplay for "I Hear Your Voice." In that drama Kim So Hyun played the younger version of Lee Bo Young. Her character witnesses a car accident that is no accident.
Park Hye Ryeon also wrote "Dream High" and "Pinocchio."
The drama is slated to air early in 2016, likely after "Descendants of the Sun" and before "Uncontrollably Fond."
This year Ji Soo, 22, also played a top student with an abusive father in "Sassy A Go Go" and had a role in the film "Glory Day."
Kim So Hyun, 16, appears in two films this year, "Pure Love" and "Princess Deokhye."
